I thought there was/is a right of succession. Surely no one but the Queen herself could prevent Prince Charles from becoming King? The way I see it is, regardless of culture or religion, most humans need razzamatazz in their lives. Hindu ceremonies with painted elephants and mass soaking in the Ganges shit stream, or Muslims slouching around a big black box, Mexican parades with giant skeletons, Spanish bullfights, Hollywood, Oscars, Catholics dragging effigies of the blessed virgin. Religion itself - it

Pauline Hanson is like so many people who left school early and as a result lacks lucidity in English. Me for example. We struggle to make ourselves understood. But, boy, has she hit the nail on the head with her speech in Hobart this morning. Pauline has pulled out of the government's new tax deal and as a result the pollies will have to rethink the whole thing. She pinpoints the fact that Australia - already deeply in debt - is borrowing billions of dollars each year to fund refugees, many of whom rema

Allow Paul Watson to enlighten you. https://youtu.be/6NOPQw1FXLY And here is my response -    I'm 76 and I'm starting to wind back my sexual activities. Fortunately for me there was no such thing as a smart phone when I was a teenager and no such thing as Facebook. So instead of burying our brains in electronic crap we indulged in what is known as Life. At thirteen, with the Boy Scout

Hi Kelly, The King, or Queen provides a focus for loyalty.   Since Cromwell, the "Sovereign "   has no power.   There is no right of succession, and the "Sovereign"  is  nominated by the UK parliament.   This leads to some wacky situations, e.g. the Queen of Australia is nominated by the Westminster Parliament.   Bob Menzies was sucking up to the wrong person.   Glad I'm not a Constitutional Lawyer, All the Best, Rob

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. There again, I don't hate the royals like some people do. I just see them and an anachronism, but so long as the Brits are prepared to pay for them, no worries. Julia Baird wrote an interesting article about Meghan Markle which is worth reading. Of course, no one has mentioned the irony of a divorced woman being married in a Christian church. According to Jesus she should be stoned to death for adultery. Fortunately for her,  no one reads the Bible. https://w

I've been driven towards the right by left leaning twerps who refer to anyone with an inking of patriotism about them as "racists". Anyone who suggests that a halt to Muslim immigration might be a good idea, at least for the time being, is instantly branded a racist, a bigot, a hypocrite and a hater. Yet some of the most decent, caring and sensible people I know agree that such a policy might be a good idea. Certainly worth considering. And so I'm faced with a choice, do I swing to the left and d

My response to a YouTube contribution that has just been posted - https://youtu.be/6JB0hNxuq9M 100% spot on. Here in Australia we have an ABC (publicly funded) TV channel which broadcasts a program called 'The Drum'. It's on five nights a week and approximately four guests are invited on each night to discuss local and international news. So, approximately 20 guests per week equals around a thousand
